Rosacea

What is Rosacea?

Rosacea can happen at any age, but most commonly happens to adults over the age of 30 years.

Sometimes people may experience some swelling of the facial skin. In certain rare cases, there can be an overgrowth of oil-secreting glands on the nose may cause some thickening of the skin. The nose appears swollen, red, with enlarged pores; the medical term for this is Rhinophyma. Rhinophyma is found more often in men than women.

Certain people with rosacea find that the eyes are also be affected. Usually symptoms may include: redness of different parts of the eye and eyelid, dryness, itching, burning, tearing, gritty sensation, light sensitivity and blurred vision.
