Semi Permanent Makeup

Semi Permanent Makeup

Permanent make up, also know as micro pigmentation is a process where natural pigments are deposited to the dermal layer. The procedure aims to define and enhance natural features to give desirable shape, colour and definition. It is used for a variety of enhancements such as eyeliner, lips and eyebrows particularly in people who have lost them as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia , chemotherapy, and to disguise scars and white spots in the skin such as in vitiligo. It is also used to restore or enhance the breast’s areola, such as after breast surgery.

Semi-permanent make-up will also benefit people who require correction of asymmetry of facial features, or for busy people who simply don’t have time to apply make up every day.

Before treatment there will be a consultation about the shape and color of your preference. After you have approved the shape of your choice, color is carefully selected to match your natural skin tone and hair colour. A topical anaesthetic will then be used to numb your skin to begin treatment. The colour will appear darker for the next 5-7 days before settling into a more natural appearance.

The procedure normally lasts between 18 months to 3 years depending on factors such as skin type, treatment area, sun exposure and chosen colour. A touch up will required afterwards to refresh the look.
